Original wheels are unknown; possibly aluminum slots, currently has 13x5.5 Cragar S/S wheels. 14"x7" wheel/tire combo will be put on for modification.
Hood scoop will be functional.
Aftermarket glass moonroof installed, glass panel can be taken out.
Louvers on quarter windows and rear window.
A/C will be removed, rear window defroster has been disabled.

additional comm/mods: Only 78,000 original miles. This car was pretty stripped when I got it. The only options on it were Power Steering and the C3 Auto. I've been to several scrap yards and added quite a bit of the factory options available in '76. Aluminum wheels, center console, quartz digital clock, intermittent wipers, AM/FM cassette stereo (from a '78), and the final and most challenging option, the Factory A/C. I have it almost completely installed. I just need to have it tested for leaks.

This winter the engine will be pulled, the engine bay redone, and a mass air fuel injected 5 liter motor will be installed using a Windsor- Fox custom harness. Then as funds are available the car will be repainted silver (?) and I will be looking for a '76 Ghia with a blue interior to use as a parts car so as to finish my restomod. With any luck the car will be on the road sometime in the fall of 2,000. I had no idea as to how the car was originally equipped, but Ford sent me a letter telling me what the car was originally optioned with.

additional comm/mods: The 1976 Cobra II came with a 2.3, 4 cylinder with 4 speed manual transmission. I converted the drive train to a 1977 302 with C4 transmission. I had a quick shift Fairbanks trans pack added. The 302 has 2 barrel carb.
The car has new base coat clear coat paint job. New vinyl seat covers and carpet. Just recently replaced the interior rear quarter panels and added a console. The factory AM-FM stereo was replaced with a Pioneer AM-FM cassette stereo (replaced in 1978) and Jensen coxial speaker front and rear.
All new weatherstriping. Recently, repaint the interior to one color.
Future plans, will be replaced with 4 barrel carb and manifold. Rear gear changes from 3:73 to 3:00 posi. AOD trans and 15 x 7 later Mustang wheels or switching from 4 lug to five lug arrangement with Magnum 500 wheels. Engine chroming and dress-up.
